Have you seen Michael Prescott's MOSAIC Strict concept? Basically it's that if people designed mechanically self-contained TTRPG subsystems that aren't too long, then groups can pull together a manageable set of them and have a custom game experience. So, someone might make a subsystem for car chases, and someone might make one for wrestling, and someone might make one for wilderness survival, etc. Well, I made this one for lovemaking, because I didn't want it to get left out. And bonus, because it's mechanically self-contained it's entirely OSR compatible.

I think the second paragraph under Inexperience might have been intended to go under Social Class

Ah, it's supposed to be an aside after describing a few of the tokens, talking about how sometimes it'll be easy, and sometimes you'll need more conversation. But then the examples I used in it are more about social class. Hmm. I could rewrite the examples to be a little more wide ranging.

This subsystem is essential for navigating the lead-up and follow-through of a lovemaking scene/fade-to-black. This game achieves this by bringing specific aspects -- such as self-deceptions, power imbalances, even physical capability -- to explicit light, opening opportunities for deeper role-playing in the context of sex and human connection.

This system-neutral ruleset is perfect for you if:

  • You want to approach lovemaking and intimacy in a newly intelligent and meaningful way.
  • You want to articulate characters' limitations and aspirations for physical and emotional connection.
  • Outside of RPGs, you have an academic interest or appreciation for the intricacies of physical intimacy.

This ruleset is not for you if:

  • You feel uncomfortable with this topic, or feel unprepared to trust others with its procedures.
  • You do not feel like dedicating time just for establishing lovemaking intricacies.
  • You are looking for rules about fucking.
